Day 22 first hunting trip.

Well it is finely dark now and Iam still tired. The ride up here was long and and I didn't get much sleep. I know that the days are getting shorter so what is happening is that we drive in the morning, but it get dark right away. I know that Big  Foot Jim and his group don't get up until around 10 pm. each night. Iam just having trouble getting the sleep that I need. As she days are getting shorter and the weather is getting  colder, and it's harder to go out side. Bit we are. Heading south, and staying some what ahead of the bad weather.
The gang is all up now and Harry and Edith Yeti are going to take a hike with Mira. I see Garrison is getting ready for something. I know that he will be going hunting tonight. Sasquatch Doug and Big Foot Jim are getting ready to go with him. Joyce asked me if I would like to go fishing with her. Emma is going to watch Liberty tonight. I got my fishing pole and a flashlight now, so Iam ready to go fishing with Joyce.
I saw Garrison talking to Doug and his dad. Joyce said that this will be Garrison's first time hunting on his own. I though that they were going along to help. She said that he is young and inexperienced but he needs to learn. He will soon be out on his own. Emma is glad that Garrison will be getting the training he needs. There is so much wildlife in the area that he shouldn't have any trouble finding games. But I know it is called hunting for a reason so he will have to work at it. The moon is out and the sky is clear. I have already landed 2 nice fish but Joyce has got 6 already, iI guess she is a better fisherman.  I just heard alot of noise in the Canyon. I hope that Garrison got his  first deer or whatever he is going after. Here come Doug up the trail with a deer, I asked him where is everybody else. How come Garrison is not carrying his own deer back. Doug asked if I knew where Emma was. I told him she was back in camp with Liberty and getting food ready for you guys. Then all of a sudden I saw Big Foot Jim and Garrison Coming up the trial. Garrison was holding his arm and limping ready bad. Joyce asked what was going on and Jim said that he might have a broken arm. We packed up our fishing gear and headed back to camp.
I heard a loud scream from Garrison, they were setting his arm it must hurt. Emma said that they were going to call it a night . So I headed back to the 5th. Wheel to get some rest. I didn't want to get into what happen to night.

Day 21 Hunting Spot

9 am. At the camp right now and everybody has said their goodbyes. I going to follow Big Foot Jim out of here. I have no idea which way to go. All these logging roads look the same. Doug said that the baby was sick all day and Joyce was up all day with Emma taking care of Liberty. They think that she ate something that didn't agree with her.
We are back on the main road now heading to Walport. Edith and Harry wants to see the Alsea River. We are planning on camping on the Alsea. I see that are heading on the North Bay view road now, heading up thenAlsea River. Jim has been here before, he said to me. He knows that there is alot of game and wild berrys. He know of a place to camp up on the Nat'L forest road. At north Bayveiw Loop we turned off onto N.F.Rd. 51 then right on to a unnamed road. As we went up the road,it was a dead end. This has got to be the most breathtakeing spot I have seen. There is a wealth of plant life and Mt. Sheep and other wildlife can be seen grazing on the hill side. I don't know how long we are going to be here. I can tell you now that this is going to be an experience that I will enjoy. I can't wait until tonight to find out how long we will be here.
It is 4 in the afternoon now and ever one is in the Motor Home . I hope that I can get some sleep today.Iam so excited about this spot. As. Far as I can see it's fun .fun!!
We have parked well back in the trees. So on one can see us. I know that this is going to be an unforgettable experience. But it seem like I just met them all,and the time is going by so fast.
Harry said it's time for Garrison to learn to hunt and get some hunting skills.  That is why Harry Yeti wanted to go up the Alsea. There is a wealth of plant life and deer and other animals to hunt. So we will see what tonight has for us.

Day 20 who was scarded

The night started with a bang. Someone is shooting in the next valley over. As it get closer to hunting season, there seems to be alot more shooting and hunters running around. It's after dark now and the people in the next valley are still shooting, their guns off.
Bruce asked everyone to stay close to camp. Big Foot Jim told the kids to stay in camp also. Just like all kids they want to go out and play. This is the first time I have seen Jim mad about anything. I saw him grab Garrison by the back of his neck and say something to him. Garrison said something to his dad and Jim gave him a hug. Now the kids are playing over by the river.
Bruce is telling stories about their childhood. The stories are so funny and unbelievable at the same time. Doug said that one time Bruce and two of there other friends though it would be fun to scare some campers. Not a good idea they found out.  The campers were off duty park Rangers and they did not scare so easies. The guys all had guns and started shooting in the air, lucky for them. Instead of them scarring the campers, the campers scared them!! Sasquatch Doug and Sasquatch Bruce both said they both ran all the way home without stopping.
Sasquatch Doug said that one time they though they would get some fish for dinner. Bruce and he tried to fish in a cold Creek. They worked at it all day and only got two fish, then his dad showed up. It took him about 15 min. To get enough fish for dinner. Experience goes a long way in this life, he told them. He show them how and what they were doing wrong.
Doug and Bruce were in the same Clan up in Olympia Nat'L Park.  Washington. Bruce's family moved to the other side of the park to start a new Clan. But they have always stayed in touch with each other over the years. When Bruce moved to Oregon in early 2000 Doug said that they would see them next time they came down. Doug still lives in Washington state this will be the first time that we have been to this part of Oregon.
Great stories but it is almost day light now. Looks like everyone is heading back to their home. Texas Clan are moving the school buses and Motor Home back into the woods and out of sight. Big Foot Jim wants to get back on the coast and head south to our next adventure.

Day 19 Texas Clan Shows up

Boy did I sleep good today and Iam well rested. We had a great night last night. I see that the Texas Clan made it in. I see their is two school buses and the Motor Home over under the trees. I plan to go out later when they give me a call. Last night Jim told that they were going to have a group meeting to night and ask me to wait until I get a call before coming out
Iam just playing cards and waiting. It's been about 3 hours and it's and it is almost midnight and still no call. Here come Joyce and Edith with Bruce's mate. There seems to be alot going on now. It's 4am.  and I finally got a call. Jim asked me if I would like to join them . Doug said that Bruce and he worked out a deal with the Texas Clan. From now on they will be called the Powerhouse Clan. Everyone is in a good mood and seems happy. All the kids are out playing and running around and exploring their new home.
Sasquatch Doug and the Big Foot Clan from Texas are going to make a great home for everyone. The new Powerhouse Clan is going to be a big Clan of at least 12 Big Foots pairs plus kids. Bruce stands over 8 feet tall and you can tell he is in charge already. Everyone is getting along really good so far. I was told that they will expand their territory starting next week.
I was talking to Big Foot Jim about how often as new Clan gets started. He told me as the Clan grows it has to divide. By doing this then Clan doesn't get so large that it depletes the game in one area. The group is starting to head back to their camp. The kids are all over the place now and having alot of fun. Doug  and I are out by the fire just watching the kids running around. It's starting to get light now so Iam going to head back to the 5th. wheel to get some sleep.

Day 18 Hog Hunt

Well it is our 2nd. Day here at Powerhouse Hole. Everyone is up and running around. Bruce is in a pretty good mood. Jim is going out to hunt for a deer he said. The deer are over in the valley and Doug, Bruce and Jim are all going out to night to get one. The deer are all bedding down now and are easier to get. Doug said that they smell the deer before the deer can smell them.
Bruce's kids are out by the Motor Home. The fur on his kids is alot darker then Jim's kids. It's makes it harder to see them in the woods. They are playing a game called
( Get away and hide ) which played all the time.
Garrison's right leg must be alot better. He's not limping as much. I hear quite a commotion in the trees. I guess the guys got their deer. Should be back soon if they got one. Emma and Joyce are cooking up leftovers from the other night from when we were at Devil's Lake S.P.  I have only eaten with them the one time and that was  Ribs I got in Tillamook. I never eat what they eat because I have no idea where their meat comes from. But I can tell you that it always smell so so good. I did find out that Bruce and his Mate are mostly vegetarian.
Their diet consists of about 10 % meat. There is so much for them to eat in this area, roots, wild onions, berry's and all types of greens. Emma took me out to show me how to find wild potatos and other roots that are edible. They stay away from mushrooms because it is hard to tell which ones are good. Iam helping them clean the roots we found, that will go with dinner.
The guys are back now and they did not get a deer!!! What a surprise! They got a large Hog. Bruce said it was only by chance they came by the Hog. Doug also said that this was one mean wild Hog. Jim had a bad cut on his leg. He said that the Hog turned on him. Bruce had to kill it by jumping on it and killing it. I didn't realize how many scars that Jim had on his arms and legs. But to feed your family you got to do what you have to do to get the job done. It's 2:30 am now, and everyone is getting ready for dinner. I will stay by the fire and wait for them to get done. Iam having fried chicken from the store.
Bruce and his mate along with the two kids are leaving.
Bruce had some good stories about Doug when they lived in the Olympic Nat'l Forest.
More tomorrow

Day 17 New Clan Started

This morning has been a little hectic. The Monaco well not start. Sasquatch Doug has been working on it for about 20 min. now or so. Big Foot Jim has informed me that a wire came off the starter. Everyone is ready to go now. As we were leaving Lincoln City we stopped at the Silent Bay. It was at low tide now and almost empty. Emma called and told me that they where going to turn off at Hwy. 229, and head up the Silent river. This road will follow the river and into the town of Siletz. We will turn left on Hwy. 410 and head up Logsden Rd. just the other side of Siletz. We ended up turning on Moonshine Park Rd. Now we are back along the Siletz river again. Moonshine Park Rd. Veers to the left. Jim turn off to the right. Now we are headed up the Siuslaw Nat'L forest Rd. Left over the bridge then left again, and past Powerhouse hole. Finally, Jim stopped and Doug came back to the truck . He wanted me to know that we will be going down an old logging road. As we started down the old logging road, I noticed that the road was well maintained. The gate was locked behind us by someone. I did not see who locked it. We got to the end and parked under a thick Grove of trees. I got out and Jim and Doug started setting up camp.  Harry said that we will be here at least two days. No one will bother us here.
Garrison and the other kids left to go get fire wood. The girls are laying down now. They are used to sleeping during the day time. I need to get some rest if I am going to be up to night. I hope that everyone is all rested up now. 10 pm. and the kids are out running around and playing. I hear alot of noise in the woods, and it seems to be coming this way. The noise is a family of Big Foots coming through the woods. The Big Foot is the Clan leader and was a child hood friend from the Olympic Nat'l Park. He moved here about 10 years ago I heard Doug call him Bruce. The Sasquatch came to Oregon to start his own Clan. Bruce told me that it just him ,his Mate and two kids. The reason that we are here, we came to help negotiate a deal between the Texas Clan and Bruce. They worked on it all night long . Between the Phone call and the internet, a deal was worked out. The leader will be Bruce because he staked out this large territory by him self. The new Clan will be the Powerhouse Clan.

Day 16. Devil's Lake

That was one exciting night! Last night had a lot of things going on. With Teenie picking a mate, oh yes she did end up picking Skunk Ape Mike. Harry and Edith Yeti have decided to move to Florida after this trip. I ask Harry Yeti. Where in Florida would they want to live.  Along the Hillsborough river out side Tampa. There is a big Clan in that area. Everyone is packing up now to head out. Big Foot Jim and Sasquatch Doug have hooked up the tow car. I never unhooked so Iam ready to go. I see the ladies over talking to Teenie about picking Skunk Ape Mike. I hope she made a good choice, only time will tell.
We started back down the hill and started to leave the Siuslaw Nat'L forest. We will be back on Hwy. 101 soon. Joyce called to tell me that we will be seeing Teenie and Mike again. They are planning on going up to the Olympic Nat'l Forest and then back down.
We are back on Hwy. 101 now, but we are heading north, not south. Mira called to say that they all want to go back up to Clay Myers State Natural Area. Then go see Cape Kiwanis S.N.A.  which we missed on the way down. Then we'll go have lunch at Bob Strange State Park. Doug and Joyce got on the phone and said that we will be at Devil's Lake State Park about 5 pm. tonight. On the way down 101 we stopped at Neskowin Beach.
Now we are at Devil's Lake S. P. and all checked in and set up. Sasquatch Doug only wants to say one night. I am going over to Chinook Wind Casino for dinner. Everybody else is going to stay in camp and rest. Devil's Lake State park is full tonight and people are everywhere walking around. Jim said that it is to busy here and he only wants to stay one night.  We are going to leave as soon as we can tomorrow morning. Harry and Edith Yeti are still planning on going to Florida. They came over to show me on the map where they will be at. If we get to go this is were I would like to go too. I know that they will like it there, even the cold weather here in the north west can bother a Yeti as they get older.
We all got our fishing poles and are headed over to D. Lake for a night of fishing.

Day 15 Berry Wine

Now it is getting colder at night and the Clan from Texas has build a nice camp fire. It looks like the whole Elk Bend Clan is out there. Both the Texas and the Elk Bend Clan is out by the fire. I see that Big Foot Jim and his group are heading out to the camp fire to join them.
Iam  going to let them visit a bit before I go out. The night sky is so clear you can see the light along the coast line. I was told that the Elk Bend Clan has a new member from Florida. He moved out here about 6 months ago. He came from the Tampa area, and his Clan was called the Lettuce Lake Clan. I know in that part of the USA the Big Foots were called Skunk Apes. He met one of the Big Foot females about a year ago. She pick him out as a possible mate. She said she would pick him if he would move to Oregon, or at least cost Oregon.
I smell wine or a heavy berry smell. Sasquatch Doug was telling me that it is an old Big Foot recipe. The wine is made from wild berry's.  Boy, dose it smell strong! Harry And Edith seems to be having a good time. Harry has been talking to Skunk Ape Mike about moving to Florida. I guess even a Big Foot wants to retire to Florida, thats a hoot!!! Doug is over by the motor home with the leader of the Elk Bend Clan. I see them getting a 5 gal. Bucket out of the back. Jim is getting some cups and passing them out for the berry wine the Clan made. I hope that if they get drunk they don't look at me as food.
It is real dark now and we can hear the kids playing. But I have no idea where the kids are. Everyone is having a real good time the ladies are dancing around. The guys are telling stories and talking business.
Skunk Ape Mike just said that Teenie wants to pick her  mate tonight. She wants to do it because everybody is here now. Harry's little brother asked Teenie if thats what she wants to do. She said that she has been thinking about it alot all day. Now we have to get all the Big Foots together that wants to become her mate, Her Choice.
I got to tell you that I was completely dumbfounded!! It was over in about a minute once she picked him out of the group. They are hitched!! Her and her new mate took off in a flash.
Night is over for me Iam tired and off to bed for me.

Thanks Teenie.

Day 14 meeting the Texas Clan

Iam going to call this Clan  the Nestucca Texas Clan. The wild life here is outrageous! The large Elk alone is one of the best thing about this spot.  I see Coyotes, Cougars and Deer are everywhere. Iam going to meet the Texas Clan soon, I hope. In the mean time, Iam going to take a hike up to the peak.
Garrison just came over to the 5th. Wheel and he is still limping on his right leg. I hope he gets better soon. He wants me to come to the camp fire down the trail. Emma and Joyce are waiting for me, so Iam going to walk down with them. What a site! I saw at least 6 of the Biggest Big Foot that I have seen so far, around the camp fire. They must all be a least 8'+ tell. The kids are all running up and down the trails. Emma and the rest of the ladies are in a group with their babies. Doug and Jim and the Texas Clan are getting ready to go out and mark their territory. We are all waiting for the Elk Bend Clan to show up. I ask Big Foot Jim if he was going to show me how they mark the boundary's. He said that they have been marking the corners of the territory the same for as long as he could remember. What they would do is pull a tree up by its roots and turn it up side down at each corner. They would do this by shaking a tree until it is loose then pull it out of the ground and turn it root side up. By digging a hole a hole and putting it, in root side up. That shows other Big Foot the boundaries.
We did alot of walking tonight . The Elk Bend Clan helped by doing the west side and we did the east side. All of a sudden one of the Big Foot from Texas took off running. I ask what was going on. Doug informed me that he saw a Elk and was going to get it. I was very surprised to see him come back so soon with an Elk over his shoulder. We are almost all done with everything. As we started back to camp, the Clan got together to say goodnight ( or good day ). Doug said that we will all get together tomorrow night and have a party. I felt so out of place. The only one that Iam teller then is some of the kids. Back at the 5th. Wheel now and Iam so tired, It's almost day light now and I will sleep good today.
See you later, your shirtless host Steve.

Day 13 Big Foot from Texas

Sasquatch Doug just stopped by to tell me where we will be going next. I am very surprised and hope that the road will not be to bad. Jim said that there is a camp site up there where we are going.  We are planning on leaving in about 2 hrs. I was told that it will be a slow trip and the roads are pretty good. We are going to be meeting a Clan that moved there from Texas. Jim and Doug are going up to help them mark out a small territory that is being set up for them. The area of land belongs to the Elk Bend Clan and they are letting them use it until they get settled. I ask if I needed to be blind folded again. Doug started laughing and said  " How are you going to drive "
We just left the camp and are headed to the town of Beaver, Or. This is a small town off Hwy. 101.  We will be heading east out of Beaver on Blain Rd. This will become the upper Nestucca river Rd. or Nat'L forest road 85. We are driving along the Nestucca river and the road is very windy and not very wide. It's going to be a slow trip Iam following Jim's Monaco Motor Home. As we follow the river, the road became the BIM 32.  I thought that we were there when I saw the sign the sign that said Elk Bend Recreation site and Cover Camp grounds. But we drove right past them. I have no idea where we are going to end up. But we are going higher and deeper into the wilderness. Make me wonder were in the heck are we going to end up. Just passed N.W. Boundary Rd. now on N.W. Nestucca.access Rd. and as we passed Bald Mt. Rd. we made a hard left turn up a road with No. # and no name that I could see. The turn was about a mile before McGuire Reservoir. We followed this road all the way to the end and it was a rough road.
I saw two old school buses and a newer Motor Home in the trees. I almost missed them in the thick Grove of trees. The woods are so thick and I didn't see any one around.
Doug came over and told me to park over by the pea green pond. He wanted me to stay hooked up just in case we have to leave in a hurry. Sasquatch Doug and Big Foot Jim along with the rest of the group took off and asked me to stay by the motor homes.
They will see me to night.

Day 12. The B.B.Q.

The camp was just buzzing today and I am having a hard time getting sleep today. The noise out side is quite loud. It is a weekend and the camp is full and alot of people are running around. I hope I get some sleep.
Tonight Big Foot Jim Emma want to go for a hike. I am up now, ( did not get much sleep ) but I am rested up for tonight. I can smell B.B.Q. out side. Doug is barbecuing some Ribs I got in Tillamook last night at the market. Joyce is going to make potato salad. Emma and Joyce are going t work on the ice cream. Mira said that her mom said to come over about 10:30 tonight for dinner.  I heard that Harry and Edith Yeti. are planning to be back tonight sometime. Emma and Joyce will be happy to see them.
The camp is still buzzing and campers every where. Garrison and Mira are knocking on the door. I wonder what they're up to. They came over to tell me dinner is almost ready. I can smell the ribs and boy do they smell good. I know that Joyce made some potato salad from wild potatosnshe found. Emma is making the blue berry ice cream. I had no idea that Sasquatch Doug was such a good cook!.  I have smelled their food alot and it always smells so good for being road kill.
There is an old school bus coming down the road. Well it looks like Harry's little brother driving it. He bring Harry and Edith Yeti back from Round Top. I hope that he can stay for dinner before he has to go back. I just saw Harry get out of the bus I didn't see Edith. I hope she is okay.
Doug said that dinner will be ready in about 15 min. What a B.B.Q. ( the ribs ) were out of this world. I have always said that no one could B.B.Q. as good as my brother by another mother Greg. But this ribs were almost as good as Greg's. I had a good time and everything was great. The ice cream was the high light of the B.B.Q. blue berry's that Emma and Joyce picked fresh today.
Harry's little brother just left to get back up to Round Top before day light. Now we all are going on a hike on the Oregan Coast Trail.  Harry and Edith want to stay in camp with Liberty. Edith said that they just wanted to rest in camp. We got back and we all had a nice time hike. It will be day light soon and and Doug would like to leave today. I have no idea where we are going next but I know it will be an adventure.

Day 11 Internet sales

This will be our 2nd. night at Cap Lookout. I just got up and hear the kids outside playing already. I was tired last night and must have slept in a little. Big Foot Jim and Sasquatch Doug are knocking on the door. Doug said they would like to talk to me. Jim asked if I'd meet them out by the picnic table. I told them that I would be there in aboutb15 min.
As I came out of the 5th. Wheel, I noticed that there were two boxes on the table. Emma and Joyce were at the table talking. In the meantime, Big Foot Jim and Sasquatch Doug were off to the side talking also. What a surprise I got out there, as Doug was showing me what was in the boxes,  as Jim was filling me in on the business. The boxes had all kinds of things to look at and all of them had something to do with Big Foot.  Their Internet business is mostly Big Foot merchandise. The boxes were jam full of ,.  Tee shirt, Key rings, Mugs, Bumper stickers and all types of Big Foot and Sasquatch merchandise. Jim also told me that this only part of what they sell on the Net. Doug told me that their biggest sales at one time had nothing to do with Big Foot. At the time the sales were so big that they had to get out side help to keep up. We did not have the internet at the time--harder to keep track of the sales. I ask what was so popular, and both of them  ( Chuckled ) and said
D.B. Cooper
We sold a truck load of  ( WHERE IS  D.B. COOPER ).  Bumper stickers, Mugs, and much more.  Emma ask if I would like a Tee Shirt. of course I would I said. Then Jim said it will be $15.00 with a smile on his face. I ended up with a tee shirt, key ring and much, much more. Jim let me know that the Internet is a way to make an income. This way no one knows  they are buying from us. Some Clans sell auto parts but most of us sell Big Foot and Sasquatch merchandise. It is big business!! And we only buy Made in America. The cost is a little higher but the market is there.
Sasquatch Doug had alot to do tonight, so he is going to stay in. When ever there is a sighting their business picks up alot. The girls are going on a hike and Jim is going in to help Doug. So I am going to go to Tillamook and do some shopping for dinner for tomorrow night.
Thanks Teenie

Day 10 the internet

This is our first night at Cap Lookout and the kids should be up soon and ready to go out to play. Big Foot Jim just told me that we all our going out to the Cap Lookout peninsula that juts out westward 2 miles. It will be about a two and a half mile hike to the lookout and view point.
Sasquatch Doug needs to stay in camp and do some work. He has alot of work to do on the internet, Jim said. We are getting behind on our internet orders. I asked,
" What internet business do you have ? " Jim said that Doug and he own an online internet business. Doug will tell you about it later when he has time. Right now we would like to go on a hike out to the view point. Joyce and Emma and the kids are getting ready for the hike. They want it to get a little darker before we start.
We drove up to the parking lot at the trail head. As we started out, the trail we muddy at times but not to bad. On the way out to the view point we had to go though a Grove of Sitka Spruce trees. The Spruce trees limbs were laden with moss and thick ferns all around. It reminded me of a horror movie I just watched. But in the movie you did not return. Just as we got past the trees, you could see the light from the stars flicking off the water. Joyce pointed out a Placard that told about the B17F Bomber that crashed into the side of the peninsula in 1943. Emma told us all about the rumours that a Big Foot saved the lone survivor. He was from the Elk Bend Clan, he was out fishing. It was a very foggy and over cast day. But was it just a rumour,  someone saved him!!! As we hiked out to the view point, the view was spectacular and the clear skys let the moon light dance off the water. The stars were out and what a sight for sore eyes. The kids were running around having fun, we stayed out there about two hours.
Jim said they should be getting back. He wants to get back to help Sasquatch Doug with the online sales. I guess I will find out someday what they sell. On the way back I saw Garrison limping on his right leg. Emma said that he hurt it up at Round Top jumping off a log playing a game called ( get away and hide ) this is a game they play all the time. It teaches them how to avoid people. He should be playing a few days. As soon as we got back the kids took off to play.
Joyce is taking Liberty in to lay down. Emma and I our out by the fire just talking.  I can see the sun is starting to raise now. We all had a good time last night on our hike. I hope to find out more about the business that Sasquatch Doug and Big Foot Jim has that supports the family. Emma said good night and went inside.
Your shirtless host Steve.

Day 9 shaking campers and RVs.

It was a long night by the camp fire but what a beautiful night. Iam all hooked up now and ready to go on our new adventure. I would like to get to Cap Lookout S.P. as soon as I can . I am hoping to pick out two good camp sites. The day has gone by petty fast so far. I need to get some rest before tonight. I don't know what time they will get in. Must be around noon now I see a large Monaco Motor Home pulling in. Well it is Big Foot Jim and the kids called and said that they had a good time. Mira told me that her dad and the rest of them want to get some rest now. I saw Jim getting the RV. Hooked up now he is off to bed. He yelled at me and said see you tonight.
Harry and Edith Yeti did not come back with everyone. Harry wanted to stay and visit his little brother a few days. Joyce informed me that they will catch up with us later.
Sasquatch Doug was telling me one of the reasons they went back up to Round Top was to get some hunting in. Garrison told me that they got two deers. Garrison was excited because he got to help clean and cut up the deers. I didn't ask were they got the deers or how.
Emma and Joyce are cooking up something for dinner for the Clan. Iam going to have pork chops tonight. One thing I can say is that the girls cooking smell ready good. How ever, roadkill is not on my diet. But it smells good.
We are having a nice camp fire now. Sasquatch Doug is telling stories about the past. I did find out why they turn logs--root side up. The one thing that  surprised me was the story about why they shake campers and RVs at night. The shaking started back when the first settlers were traveling over the Oregan trail. As they were telling me about why they do it,  I started to understand why it is a good idea to shake your RV. This tells me how smart they are and how they look at things differently then we do. The shaking of the covered wagons and now RVs. and campers server the same purpose now as it do then. Sasquatch Doug tell some of the best old family stories. He wants the kids to know about the past. Big Foot Jim is into family history also. Emma wants to stay here for a least 2 or 3 days. Joyce  and Emma want their mom and dad to stay up at Round Top as long as they want. It is almost day light again and they are headed in. Kids are back from playing.
Good night or good day.

Day 8 who's Who's

It is just after dark now and I haven't heard from Big Foot Jim. I guess I will stay in Tillamook one more night. I hope that everything is going okay. It is about 8pm. now and Iam used to being up all night. I just can't seem to get sleep. Iam going to build a camp fire and just relax by it. The camp Iam in is small but very clean and no one around.
Big Foot Jim just gave me a call to let me know that they are heading back up to Round Top. They all want to get together one more time, before they all have to go home. He said that some live as far away as upper Washington State. Three of them live in North Cascade Nat'L Park. The park is by British Columbia. Two live on Mt. Logan and the other one lives on Mt. Blum with their Clans. Some came from Idaho and live in the Manukau Nat'L forest. They are all Clan leader's. I ask Jim why are some called Big Foots and some are called Sasquatch's. The reason is simple to explain. Everyone north of the Columbia River is a Sasquatch and everyone south of the Columbia River are called Big Foot. In the years past we were divided by the river.  In the past if you wanted a mate from the other side you had to swim over. This was very dangerous and you did not always get a mate. You might have to swim over two or three times. Before she would pick you for a mate. I ask if that happens alot (OH YES ) Jim said.
Jim said that the leader of this Clan is Harry's little brother. I don't  see anything little about him. He is a Yeti not a Big Foot and his mate was the old Clan leader's daughter. Jim said that his phone was getting low on power and he will call me back tomorrow.
He wants me to get two camp sites at Cap Lookout S.P. for tomorrow night. So I said good bye and returned off the phone.

Day 7 camping with Big foot

The night seem to go by in a flash with the campers all out looking for bears. Iam ready to go now and so is Big Foot Jim . But he told me that they had some place that they needed to be at. He wants me to park in Tillamook and leave my 5th. wheel and truck at a local camp site. He ask if I would ride with them. I parked and got all set up and got ready to go with them.
We started east out of town on hwy. 6 out of Tillamook and are about and hour out of town. We just passed Lee's Camp and are heading up to Round Top along the Wilson River. Sasquatch Doug ask me to put on a blind fold, I guess I will. I think we drove about 25 min. down a dirt road then we stopped at a Nat'L forest gate. Sasquatch Doug unlock and opened the gate and then closed and locked it behind us. As we drove down a rough road the trees were getting thicker and we are going deeper into the wilderness. Big Foot Jim informed me that we are going to meet a Big Foot Clan from this area. Emma said that most of the Big Foots I will meet are related to Jim or Doug.
The leader was a big  gray and black Big Foot. He made me feel very uncomfortable. Emma said that he was a pussycat. There must be at least 15  or more Big Foots running around. Some of the Bigger ones Emma said she turned down as a mate and picked Jim. It is so easy to tell the males from the females. I have no idea we're the kids ran off to. They took off as soon as we got here.
I was told that the reason we were here is because  one of the elders died of old age. I ask how old was he Joyce said they think he was about 60. The gathering was per planned for to night at midnight. Now I will finally found out why you can't find any Big Foot Bone's or remains. They dig a hole 8' deep and line it with rocks. Then they place Big Foot in the grave and cover it with a layer of rocks. The next step is to fill it on with dirt. Here comes the planning of the trees. They would plant 3 trees for a male and 2 trees for a female.
As the trees grow the roots in case the grave site. This way nobody will be able to dig it up or find the grave. I can't tell you what kind of trees are planned Jim ask me not to. I well tell you that they plant the trees a certain way. It is the way they plant them that lets only them know that it is a grave site. It is almost day light now and everyone is headed back to there homes. Iam being blind folded again for the trip back. The kids are coming back now, there must be at least 8 kids or more. Big Foot Jim just dropped me off and said he will call me later.

Thanks Teenie.      Shirtless host Steve

Day 6 the bear hunt

Jim seems a little off tonight. Emma said when we got back this morning he was disappointed about Onion Peak.  There were no lush trees like ten years ago. Big foot Jim wants to leave tomorrow about 10 am. I am okay with that he said that they all have some place to be tomorrow night. There is something going on at the camp sites on the other side. Iam going over to see what's happening. On the way over I saw Mira & Garrison running back this way. I think I know what's is going on. Well I was right, somebody saw them now Everyone thinks that there are bears in the park.
Sasquatch Doug wants everyone to stay in the motor home for a while to let things settle down, and it means no games tonight. ( Iam safe ).
Now that the camp is in a uproar about bears in the park. The camp host is going around telling everyone not to leave food out tonight. Jim is hoping to go see the sunset at the point in the car after things settle down. I think I  well stay in camp tonight.  Sasquatch Doug and Joyce are going to hike to the beach the back way, to see the sunset.
If you haven't been to Nehalem Bay put it on your bucket list. The bay has a pristine environment and the sunsets are at the top of the scale for sunsets. Big Foot Jim and Emma left in the car with Harry and Edith Yeti to go see the sunset. The only ones left in camp are Mira, Liberty and Garrison. Iam going over to the motor home to check up on the kids. They were watching ( ITS A BUGS LIFE ) on TV.  Mira said that they like eating bugs. I wanted to know if the bugs ever talk to them like on the show.  She just laughed and said NO!!!
The funny things about " Bear Sighting " is now the campers think they are seeing bears everywhere. All the campers are on " alert " hoping to catch a glimpse of a bear.
I hope that Sasquatch Doug and Joyce are okay at the beach. Jim and Emma along with Harry and Edith are back now. Jim asked me if I have seen Doug And Joyce
" I said not yet " day light is almost upon us. Big Foot Jim is anxious to leave by 10am. today. He ask if I could go out and look for Doug and Joyce. He no sooner had asked, and Doug & Joyce walked into camp. Everyone is accounted for, they are starting to get ready to go.
Thank you  Teri
Going to miss your help

Day 5 big foot throwing rocks

It's dark now and Jim & Emma came over to invite me for dinner. I thank them for the invitation, but told them that I have just eaten dinner.
Emma wanted me to meet her sister, so we are all going up to Onion Peak for a picnic. I let the kids ride with me. Garrison is only 8, but he is almost 6' tall and Mira is 6  and 4' tall. Fitting us all into the pickup was pretty tight. As there is not much room. We still had alot of fun on the ride in spite of the tight quarters.  I don't know how everyone is able to get into their Suburban. But they did.
Onion Peak is where Emma picked Big Foot Jim as her mate. She picked him out of a group of 6 Big Foots.  Emma said this is the first time Back to Onion Peak since that day.
We got up to Onion Peak about 10pm. There was some campers there. Jim & Doug started throwing rocks at there tents. I ask why they did that,  Doug said that it was a tradition. It all started with Big Foots  Jim's great great great grandfather. He would throw rocks at Lewis & Clark's tents and camp sites.  It was passed down over the years and he was told the purpose was to let them know that they were there and watching over them. Also that they are ready to help if they are needed. So that is why they do it. Seems a little odd to me, as throwing rocks to help dose not seem like help. But not to them.
We saw! Someone approaching, and it was Emma's twin sister. She was holding a baby in her arms. So that was the surprise!! The baby's name is Liberty, and she is as cute as a bug.
Sasquatch Doug and Joyce got together about 5 years ago.  She said her first child was hit by a log truck about 3 years ago. I told her I was sorry, and that it must have been really hard on everyone. Joyce said happier times are a head for us now that we have baby Liberty in our family. Harry & Edith Yeti are so happy to see her and the baby. Jim wants everyone to go on a hike together. I tried to join them , but I could not keep up, they go up hills like so easily that it is as though they are on flat ground.
I decided to stay in camp with Joyce and the baby. We had a good time while the others were on a hike. They all had a great hike and we are now heading back to Nehalem Bay.  I had a great time just hanging out with this guy's
I have to get sleep in the daytime, as night is when the fun begins. I know to night well be fun . We are going to play some games. I hope I don't get hurt.

Emma's Sister, G.G.Great Great Grandfather Day 4

Well it is just about day light now, and Big Foot Jim & Sasquatch Doug should be back soon. I see Emma is fixing breakfast now. So maybe she has heard from them. Jim & Doug got back about an hour ago. I was disappointed that I missed not getting to meet Emma's sister.
Doug came over happy as a clam and ready to leave!! He said that they wanted to leave in about and hour. Since I hooked the trailer up the night before, I was ready to go.
We should be at the next camp sites in about 2 or 3 hours. At least that is what I thought. With their tow car hooked up and  ready to go. I'm all set to follow them to our next adventure. And what an adventure it will be.
Just out side Warrington they turned into Lewis &  Clark Nat'L park. ( Fort Clatsop ).  Jim called to say that they hope to see everything this area has to offer. Looking forward to it. Things I would like to see @ Fort Clatsop is, Fort to the sea trail, the Metal river trail, Fort Clatsop Replica it looks and feels much the same. You got to see and check out historic canoe landing.  Some of the demonstration, hide tanning, candle making and even flintlock gun shooting and much much more!!!!
Since we aren't able to check into  Nehalem Bay S.P. until this after noon. So we were able to see a few more sites. We left Lewis & Clark National Park going south. Then off to Gearheart, Seaside was the next town with alot  of shops, hotels, motels and quite a large town with lots to do. As we passed the high school, they drove real slow . Later I found out  that the kids just wanted to see the other kids playing outside. They are very shy, but also very curious. As we were going though Seaside Big Foot Jim told me that he wanted to stop and see the ( End of the trail monument ) . He wanted the kids to see it.  It has something to do with his great great great grandfather. Who apparently followed Lewis & Clark and help them
out along their trip, with out them knowing it. He supply them with Big game as they traveled over and along the Columbia River in Oregon all the way to the coast.
I wanted to know why he would help them. He said it was passed down over the years that the local Indians saved his life and he thought that by helping them that maybe someday, they could all live together. But it didn't work out that way. The out come was very up setting and a mystery. No one really knew what the real story was, its always seemed to be a mystery.
Cannon Beach is bumper to bumper with traffic now.  Doug wanted to stop and have lunch at Hug Point State Recreation site. The day use is a great place to sit and look at the coastline. So we will catch Cannon Beach at a different time.
Back on the road now Nehalem Bay S.P. is just up the road. We are all check in and Jim said they all needed some rest now and he would see me later. I keep thinking about the surprise that Emma's sister has for us.  I wish I knew!!!!

Big foot day 3

Planning to break camp about 6am tomorrow. Iam going to miss Fort Stevens State Park. This park is mostly one of the best camp sites I have been @ so far. But I'am eagerly looking forward to my next adventure with Big Foot Jim..
One of the highlights of this park is the rail road tracks build across the land to the bay to help build the jetty. Most people miss the tracks because it is one of those fun things you have to look for. Don't miss it you well be glad you took the time. The  Pilings are still in the bay.
Harry & Edith love hiking trails. Edith was telling me that she like to hike @ night. They like to avoid people....
( I don't know why )
Big Foot Jim's wife has been happy all-day and for a good reason. She found out that her twin sister is going to join them. She lives some where in the Olympic Nat'l Park. She is planning on meeting them @ Nehalem Bay S.P. She has a surprise for Everyone. Especially for Sasquatch Doug. She hasn't told Edith & Harry that their other daughter is coming. It well be like a family reunion.
Emma ask Big Foot Jim & Sasquatch Doug if they would go up and pick up her sister so it well be a surprise. Jim said that they would leave after dark to night. Always at night. They hope to be back first thing in the morning. Doug only drive's at night.
I can't wait to meet Emma's sister and see what the surprise is.
Remember when Jim & Doug went hunting last night ? . Doug is going to cook his bounty this after noon. Jim has been preparing the HOG that they found along the side the road. He can't figure out why people just leave good food laying around like that.  YES it was a HOG!!! A real treat for them. A real different kind of roadkill.
It's a little before dark now and Jim & Doug just left to get Emma's  sister. They want to be back by 5 am . The kids are out playing now. I don't no where Harry, Edith and Emma are off to. So much happens at night.

Big Foot Day Two at F.S.S.Park Oregon

last night was a hoot!!  Last night Big Foot Jim  and Sasquatch Doug went hunting . They ask me to go along but I have been hiking all day and was to tired. Told them I would love to go next time.  After it got dark I heard the kids go out to play again. They played most of the night. Iam beginning to understand that most of this families activities are at night, so I will have change my schedule from day to night, if I want to hang out with them.
Harry and Edith told me that they we're going to Astoria tonight. Harry wanted to see the house that was in the movie " Goonies ". Astoria is just a few miles north of  F.S.S.Park. So a very easy trip.  I had no idea he was a big fan of the movies. He said is favorite movie is " Harry and the Henderson ". He claimed that the star was a cousin.
Fort Stevens has a lot for the family to do. Camping, Fishing , hiking , Cycling and movies for the kids, and much more. Can you Imagine if my new friends children show up for the movies. this is a large camp and it will take you all day to see everything.
Oh and yes Big Foot Jim and Sasquatch Doug are back from there hunting trip. You will never be leave what they got. I was very surprised to see it. I will fill you in later. I will most likely not eat with them tonight or maybe ever.  Their favorite meals are very different from my favorite.  But you never know!! I like meat too.

Camping with Big Foot

Report from your shirtless host on camping with Big Foot @ Fort Stevens S.P. Oregon
This is about the first time I meet Big Foot.  He was camping in Oregon with wife and two kids. He also had his cousin Sasquatch ( Doug ) along with his in-laws Harry Yeti and his wife Edith.
It was a cold winter night just out side Astoria- Oregon.
He had the camp site just across from me, in  there new class A Monaco motor home.
If you haven't been to Fort Stevens S. P. you are missing a experience of a life time. You are right on the mouth of the Columbia River and it is spectacular with a view to die for.
Harry and I talked a bit , I was surprised how much they like camping. We both well be here for 3 days so we decided to travel together and camp down the coastline. So follow us as we go South.

Tar balls on the beach

Report form your shirtless host @ the beach

Tar balls.   I was not here when the oil spill happen.  From what I see @ Refugio and El Cap. It's time to go camping again. There is tar balls on the beach but from what I found out was that there has always been tar on the beach. So bring some cooking oil , Pam spray or goo gone ( my irritate skin ) but work good and go to the beach.  The pristine environment is way you go camping so pack up the camping gear and all the family and friends you can get and go camping. Remember that camping is fun but family camping is alot more fun. Don't for get your friends.
Remember that the Jr. Ranger program start up so for the kids.  This well teach the kids about wildlife and how to take care of our natural resources.
On top of that it is just alot of fun.

Report from you shirtless host on a dump job, I call it

This is about a 2007 VR1 by Keystone. But the trailer is ouly the start of this store.
The real story is about Steve &  Den ( wife's Meagan & Kim watched on )  I call this 50 shades of gray or is it gray.
O-yes A Back Story. Steve is apparently a inventor. He fixed a gas leak smell all by his self. ( how ). Patten pending. Has something to do with cone.
How back to 50 shades of gray. One night they though they would drain the gray water into 5 gal. Bucket.
The shower had standing water as they started draining the water the shower water did not drain. So they took off a panel and got wire to unstick the line. Well someone used the toilet out came warm water.  All that work and elbow in a pipe and that came out was warm pee.
So don't dump your gray water after dark, It could be ( BLACK ).

If you like rock stacking this is the beach to be at.   A lot of flat rocks to work with                        shirtless host Steve

Morro Bay State park

Report from your shirtless host on  Morro Bay S.P.

I know that campers just love this park. It is always full of campers. I think that it needs to be better taken care of. If I wanted to pay 50.00 hook up ( water& elec. ) and 35.00 for dry just to have a cold shower. I waste  more water .25 a min. To get in a dirty Luke warm shower. I have been here 3 days and the showers \ bathroom have been unclean every time. Hair on the floor just not clean.
I know that it is hard to keep clean the winter. But they could come around more then that do.  The staff is not very friendly only 1-2 well look at you when you say hi.
Don't they know with the campers there would be no park to work at.
This a pristine area it has Morro Rock, Bird Watching,
Hiking Trails and much more.
I love the State Parks for camping but this need help.

1955

Report from your shirtless host on  a 1955 Kenskill trailer.
This is about a 1955 14' Kenskill trailer, what a gem.
The classic was found in a shed. It was under cover for the past 30+ years just setting there. It wanted a new home and found it with the Elliotts.
The new owners are Jim & Dani ( 3rd. Owners they think). Out Bakerfield. They told me that they were looking for a trailer for about à year or so. What a gem in this classic. Every thing inside worked with a little cleaning up after setting 30+ years.
The green & cream classic Kenskill trailer is being towed by a red custom GMC surbuen.
They had it painted about 3 years ago. So if you see it heading or coming from the coast headed back to Bakersfield give them wave and a honk.  Jim & Dani put another classic on the road.
Thank you Jim &  Dani

Review a Yosemite bus

The Westport S.P. had the honor to host a 1952 Flexible bus. This bus was a Yosemite N.P. bus from 1952 to 1970. They bought it in 1972.
The name of the bus is ( Here-N-There ). Look for it on the coast line. If you like camping like I do, start looking and enjoying the classic. Once there gone there gone.
I know that newer RVs are great but old classic RVs are the best and we need them.
If you park next to a classic with your RV it well make you want the classic. If you are a true camper and have a love for the pasted.
Most of this RVs. cost more to restore then a new one
To love a classic RV. Is to love camping.  So thank you Dean & Sharon Edell for letting me know about it and seeing yours.
